About

Our purpose is simple:

Help people understand what is happening, what is verified, what is already being done, and how they can help effectively.

Concern for these horses extends far beyond any one organization, Facebook group, petition, proposal, or individual. Across the community, advocates, researchers, photographers, volunteers, organizations, and concerned citizens are already working in different ways to protect the horses and push for meaningful change.

AHS helps bring those pieces together.

We provide a central place where the public can find reliable information, ask questions, share concerns and evidence, learn what efforts are already underway, and connect with the people or resources best positioned to help.

Our role is not to replace existing advocates or organizations. It is to help make their work more visible, more understandable, and more coordinated—while giving the public a trusted place to start.

Our Approach

We believe effective advocacy should be: Informed. Intentional. Factual. Coordinated.

Emotion matters. These horses matter deeply to many people. But lasting change requires more than outrage. It requires reliable information, thoughtful advocacy, collaboration, accountability, and an understanding of what actions are already underway.

  • That means AHS will sometimes say: We know.
  • Sometimes: We are still verifying that.
  • And sometimes: We don’t know yet.

We believe all three answers are more valuable than speculation.

Helping Public Concern Become Useful Action

When people care deeply, they naturally want to do something.

Sometimes that means signing a petition, contacting an official, sharing information, volunteering, submitting records, or supporting an existing advocacy effort.

Sometimes it means realizing that someone else is already working on the same issue – and adding strength to that effort instead of creating another one.

AHS helps people understand the difference.

We work to reduce unnecessary duplication, connect related efforts, route useful information to the appropriate people, and help supporters participate in ways that strengthen – not unintentionally complicate—the larger effort.

Transparency Matters

AHS is committed to clearly distinguishing between:

  • Verified facts
  • Official information
  • Community reports
  • Eyewitness accounts
  • Proposals
  • Opinions
  • Questions still under review

When we make a mistake, we will correct it. When new information changes our understanding, we will update it. And when the evidence does not support what we hoped or expected to find, we will say that too.

Our goal is not to control the conversation. Our goal is to help make it clearer, more informed, and more effective. We don’t need to be the loudest voice. We want to help all of the right voices be heard.
